About Dr. Kavan:
Michael G. Kavan, Ph.D. serves as a clinical psychologist for CHI Health at the John Galt Clinic. He also is the associate dean for student affairs and a professor of family medicine and professor of psychiatry at Creighton University School of Medicine.
Kavan earned his Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1988. He completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Veterans' Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Kavan is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Nebraska Psychological Association and the Society of Behavioral Medicine. He is also recognized by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
He is a national faculty member of The Core Content Review of Family Medicine; served as the national chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Student Affairs; and is a member of the National Board of Medical Examiners Advisory Committee for Medical School Programs.
He is well-published in peer-reviewed journals and manuscripts on a variety of topics related to psychological disorders, including depression, anxiety and stress.
When he is not working, Kavan enjoys cycling, running, fly fishing and spending time with his family.
