Stephen Leslie, M.D., specializes in the treatment of prostate disorders, incontinence and voiding difficulties, erectile dysfunction and urological tumors. He is also an expert on the prevention, analysis and treatment of kidney stone disease. |Do You Like Grapefruit Juice?
The Cardiac Center of Creighton University is looking for healthy volunteers ages 19-40 to participate in a four-week study on the effects of grapefruit juice on an anti-platelet medication. If you do not take any prescription or over-the-counter medications on a regular basis, you may qualify. Compensation will be given to participants. For more information, call 402.280.4826.

Creighton University's Pediatric Infectious Disease department is recruiting healthy boys and girls ages 11 through 15 to participate in an investigational vaccine study. Two licensed vaccines recommended for this age group will be given with the investigational study vaccine for the prevention of HPV infections (the most common cause of cervical cancer and genital warts). If you are between the ages of 45-70, it has been at least four years since your last menstrual period, are not being treated for osteoporosis and have broken a bone that was not the result of an auto accident, you may be able to participate in a bone quality study. If you are 40 or older, have been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and are currently or formerly a smoker, you could qualify for a research study of an investigational medication. The study includes physical examinations, laboratory and breathing tests, study drug and electrocardiograms at no cost to participants. A stipend is available. Call 402.280.5972.
Men and women who have been Type 1 diabetics for at least three years and are between 19 and 50 years of age are eligible for a study to determine the effects of diabetes on bone health. It includes three visits to the Osteoporosis Research Center, including a blood draw and bone density scans. Compensation available for visits. Call 402.280.2663.
A study evaluating normal esophageal motility is being conducted at the Esophageal Center at Creighton University Medical Center. If you are over 19, do not experience persistent symptoms of acid reflux and have not had stomach or esophagus surgery or any autoimmune or neuromuscular disorder, you may be eligible.
