From the Dean
Welcome to the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb.
Dr. Dunlay, chief medical officer of Alegent+Creighton Health Creighton University Medical Center and professor of medicine and pharmacology in the School of Medicine, is a Creighton-educated nephrologist who has served as a clinician and educator since 1990.
He completed his premedical studies at Creighton in 1977 and went on to earn his M.D. degree from the School of Medicine in 1981. He then fulfilled his internship and residency in internal medicine, also at Creighton. Dr. Dunlay completed fellowships in nephrology at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, and in nephrology research at Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis. In 2008, he earned an MBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Dr. Dunlay's experience, commitment to education and proven ability to lead will be key for a successful transition during the search for a permanent dean as Dean Rowen Zetterman, M.D., steps down from the role. Dr. Dunlay's vision and energy will be instrumental in continuing to provide exceptional education for our students and strengthening our academic partnerships with Alegent+Creighton Health, St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix and all of our academic partners.
This is an important step for the School of Medicine and we could not be more pleased that we were able to identify such an accomplished internal candidate. Dr. Dunlay's dedication to Creighton students, faculty, staff and patients is truly an asset.
Robert W. Dunlay, M.D.
