Restrictions on Required Instructional and Clinical Activity

Excerpted from EPC minutes 10.13.05

  1. Students will average no more than 80 hours per week during a clinical rotation.
  2. Students will average at least one day off (24 hours) in every seven while on a clinical rotation
  3. Post call (over night) students must be excused from clinical responsibilities after required teaching sessions are completed.  Students must be allowed a minimum of 10 hours off after overnight call for rest.
  4. The clerkship or clinical course director will be responsible for monitoring compliance with the guidelines.
