What is a Standardized Patient?
Standardized Patients (SPs) are persons ages 18 and up who participate in mock doctor-patient encounters after being specifically trained to accurately and consistently recreate the history, personality, symptoms, and emotions of an actual patient.
SPs are currently paid $15 per hour for training and exam performance. Gynelogical and Genitourinary exams are paid at the rate of $50 per hour.
