Chairman's Statement
Welcome to the Creighton University Department of Anesthesiology's website! This site will provide information about our department. I invite you to peruse our page and learn about us.
We have an excellent department with members who possess knowledge and skill to accomplish the work. There are 11 anesthesiologists and 14 certified registered nurse anesthetists in our department. Major surgical procedures -- cardiac, pulmonary, esophageal, cancer, neonatal, and others -- take place here, and we provide excellent anesthesia care. We have a busy obstetrical practice, including high-risk patients, and provide anesthesia for labor, delivery, and C-sections. Chronic pain therapy is important to our mission, and we continue to build on that.
We work to accomplish the teaching mission of Creighton University. Each month, fourth-year medical students rotate through our department and learn the basics of preoperative evaluations, airway management, and anesthesia techniques. We help the community by providing airway management training opportunities to paramedics and others. Our staff looks forward first to learning, and then teaching.
