Creighton Medical Laboratories Clinical Pathology Department evaulates components of blood, urine, and body fluids used for the diagnosis and management of disease.  More than 400,000 tests and consultations are conducted each year.  Outreach services are provided to outlying physician offices and clinics.  Staff are available for consultation 24 hours a day.  Each section of the laboratory is integrated with the Laboratory Information System, allowing for the automatic reporting of test results to remote sites.  Creighton Medical Laboratories maintains accreditation with CAP, JCAHO, and CLIA.  Ongoing internal and external quality assurance programs assure compliance with changing regulations.

Special expertise includes:  clinical chemistry, toxicology, endocrinology, microbiology, parasitology, clinical immunology, hematology, coagulation, immunocytology, diagnostic molecular pathology, molecular genetics, transfusion medicine, and therapeutic apheresis.
