This is an exciting time in the Department of Medicine.  Our Department has an outstanding internal medicine residency training program and excellent fellowships in allergy, cardiology, endocrinology, infectious diseases, and pulmonary/critical care.  We have a dedicated faculty who are actively involved in all aspects of our training programs.  Our medical simulation lab has been well-received by all trainees and provides an exceptional “hands-on” learning experience in a controlled environment.  Creighton-trained physicians are routinely accepted into some of the nation’s most prestigious sub-specialty programs.   A focus on evidence-based medicine allows us to critically appraise diagnostic and treatment options.  It has never been more important to reflect on our ability to provide  exceptional quality of care while effectively using our healthcare resources.

Creighton University is world renowned for its research in hereditary cancer led by Dr. Henry Lynch as well as our nationally recognized research in vitamin D, bone metabolism, and osteoporosis, and airway diseases.  Our “triple threat” faculty involves our residents and fellows in their programs to translate the latest research into the best patient care.

Creighton University prides itself on a strong commitment to medical education while providing compassionate care to every patient it serves.  As a Jesuit medical institution we are guided by  Cura Personalis, a Latin phrase that translates as "Care for the Entire Person."  We focus on  providing care based upon the individual needs of our patients while displaying  a distinct respect for their unique circumstances, and an  appreciation for their special gifts.

Come to Creighton and you’ll see why we are the Best in the Midwest.
