It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Neurology at the Creighton University School of Medicine. Creighton has been training the physicians of tomorrow since 1892. We pride ourselves in educating our students and residents in the Creighton tradition of caring for the whole person.
Our patients always come first. And we are committed to providing comprehensive neurological care via our clinical programs of excellence. This is a new era of neurotherapeutics where there are many treatment options for a variety of neurological disorders.
This is an exciting time to be in Neurology. Today the study of the Brain represents one of the frontiers of scientific pursuit in our times, along with Theoretical Physics-String Theory and Genetics/Epigenetics. We are unraveling the secrets of our very existence that lie buried in the deepest recesses of our brain. We now have the ability of 'seeing' our mind in our brain by the new functional neuroimaging techniques.
The Department of Neurology is committed to fulfilling three key objectives. We strive to provide state of the art neurological care to our patients, we undertake research to find new treatments of neurological disorders and we educate our residents &students to produce the outstanding physicians who shall embody the values and vision of Creighton as they serve the patients who need their care.
