Chairman's Statement
The mission of Creighton University's Department of Pediatrics is to provide compassionate care to children, promote an understanding of childhood diseases, and educate students, physicians, other health care providers and the public.
The Department of Pediatrics is comprised of 22 full-time and 148 affiliated Pediatricians. These physicians are dedicated to the training of students and residents. The faculty provides complete services for infants and children from well-baby visits to tertiary care.
Children's Physicians is a joint venture between Creighton University and Children's Hospital and Medical Center. Children's Physicians employs 36 general pediatricians at 10 clinical sites throughout Omaha.
Subspecialty services are provided at a number of local hospitals including Creighton University Medical Center, Children's Hospital and Medical Center, Bergan-Mercy Medical Center, Lakeside Hospital, Immanuel Medical Center, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Several joint divisions exist between Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. These two schools of medicine have combined expertise to sponsor a Joint Pediatric Residency Program. The residency program trains future physicians with the necessary skills, knowledge and judgment to serve pediatric needs of our community.
Our faculty participates in clinical and basic science research projects funded by numerous organizations, foundations, and grants.
