Public Health Move
In recognition of the rapidly expanding need for highly skilled professionals in health promotion, prevention and public health, the School of Medicine's Department of Preventive Medicine is expanding to become the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health. The executive committee of the School of Medicine has approved the name change. The Master's in Public Health (MPH) program will move to its new home in the expanded department and become one of the cornerstones of the department's mission. Full-time faculty members in the MPH program will receive academic appointments in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health and will work to bridge public health across multiple programs. Kudos to the Center of Health Policy and Ethics (CHPE) which served as the incubator for launching and developing the MPH program.
