Dr. Govindarajan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery with a secondary appointment in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology.
Since Dr. Govindarajan came to Creighton in 2004, he has been active in research with six published articles in peer reviewed journals, with two others presently under review. He has nine published or presented abstracts and has been successful in obtaining both internal and external funding for his research. He has already received R01 and R03 competitive grants from NIH. He is a reviewer for many of the developmental biology journals. He has made presentations at national and international meetings and has also been the communicating/senior author on a significant number of publications.
Dr. Govindarajan also contributes to Creighton University by serving on the important and time consuming IACUC, as well as other committees. He actively participates in didactic teaching courses and has been a mentor and overseer for numerous graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Venkatesh Govindarajan is an excellent young investigator and scientist who in a short period of time has been very successful and demonstrated his potential as an up and coming young investigator.
