Carolyn M. Pfeifer has been selected CreightonStudent Employee of the Year
Carolyn M. Pfeifer has been selected as the Creighton Student Employee of the Year for 2008. She is a senior Nursing student from Omaha. Carolyn will be honored at a luncheon and University Vice President Pat Callone will presented her with a commemorative plaque and gift card. Her name will be added to the permanent plaque on the "Wall of Distinction" in the Skutt Student Center.
Carolyn was selected by a team of judges from a pool of 34 undergraduate students who were nominated by departments campus wide. She has been employed for 4 years in the Medical School's Office of Medical Education. Her nominating supervisor is Dr. William Jeffries.
"We have learned that when we ask Carolyn to take on a responsibility, we can consider the task completed. In four years working with us she has never failed to show up when expected...........indeed, her adherence to her scheduled hours is greater than 98%. She's even managed excellent attendance after beginning her hectic clinical rotation schedule during her senior year in the Nursing program."
"Carolyn's health science expertise has proved invaluable as we set up equipment for medical physiology laboratory sessions for the second year medical students. Carolyn not only helped set up the equipment, she also volunteered as the test subject in dry runs for the instructors. She was so familiar with the theory and practice of the labs that on one occasion she taught the lab to medical students for two hours when a faculty instructor was called away- and was an excellent instructor"

Many thanks to all the departments who nominated their outstanding student workers and the selection team of long-time supervisors charged with the very difficult task of selecting the honoree.
