Research and Scholarship

Research and Scholarship Interests

  • My research program fits within three areas: 1) The development of interventions for trauma, depression, and suicide among underserved adolescents and their families in community-based treatment settings, 2) Elucidation of the relationship between cultural factors (e.g., acculturative stress) and mental health symptoms, 3) Examination of positive factors (e. g., coping, quality of life/functioning, resilience) that lead to improved mental health among diverse and often understudied communities.
