Medical Students Welcomed with White Coat Ceremony
First-year medical students at the Creighton University School of Medicine took their first official step toward becoming physicians on Friday, Aug. 3, when they participated in the school’s 23rd annual White Coat Ceremony.
During the event, 167 first-year medical students crossed the stage in the Joslyn Art Museum’s Witherspoon Concert Hall to don their white coats – long a symbol of medical clinicians and researchers.
Medical faculty were on the stage to welcome their future colleagues. Robert Dunlay, MD, dean of the School of Medicine, led the first-year class as it read a special student physician’s oath.
