Application Process - Internal Medicine
June 8, 2020: 2021 ERAS season begins
September 1, 2020: Applicants may submit applications to residency programs through ERAS
October 21, 2020: Residency programs may begin reviewing applications
November 2020-January 2021: Internal Medicine Residency Training Program Interview Process
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and to be consistent with recommendations from the AAMC and ACGME, our Internal Medicine Residency Training Program will conduct interviews virtually for all applicants through Zoom
March 2021: National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) main residency match results
USMLE/COMLEX Step 1 and 2CS (AAIM recommendation due to COVID: Waive any program requirements for Step 2 CK and Step 2 CS to be completed by the time of initial application review)
ECFMG Status Report (IMGs only)
Three Letters of Recommendation (One LOR from Chair or designee of your Department of Medicine)
Dean’s Letter (MSPE)
Must be within three (3) years from medical school graduation including two (2) years of clinical experience.
To be considered for selection, eligible applicants must be either a US citizen, seek a J-1 visa, or have permanent resident status (green card). We accept J-1 ECFMG certified visa only.
Applications will be accepted exclusively through ERAS.
Applications are screened by our Selection Committee utilizing a holistic review.
We use a multi-criteria-based selection process, and therefore do not provide minimum score requirements.
Invitation for interview will be sent to the applicant through ERAS.
Date selection process: Initial email will provide date options for applicant to choose from and self-schedule.
Self-scheduling dates will be locked eight days prior to scheduled interview.
Applicant will receive an email confirmation including details of your virtual interview day.
Your Interview will be done virtually using ZOOM
The evening before your scheduled interview you will be invited to participate in a pre-interview Open House with Resident Team of the Day
Your interview day will be a two and a half hour interview consisting of:
Program Director Welcome and Introduction
Two Faculty Interviews
Sessions with the Chief Resident on Life as a Resident and a Virtual Tour
Resident Team of the Day Round table sessions
Formal Conclusion with the Chief Resident
